UNTITLED, Miami Beach 2015

December 2—6, 2015

CARRIE SECRIST GALLERY
UNTITLED, Miami Beach 2015, December 2 – 6, 2015
Booth C27

Carrie Secrist Gallery is please to announce our solo booth presentation by new gallery artist Dannielle Tegeder at UNTITLED, Miami Beach 2015.

The Carrie Secrist Gallery booth will include a site-specific wall installation created specifically for UNTITLED, a suite of large-scale paintings, a series of large-scale drawings, and an installation of Tegeder’s well-known drawing series The Library of Abstract Sound. Dannielle Tegeder’s paintings and drawings explore new directions within the conceptual practice of abstraction. Integrating the visual languages of architecture, planning and design, these new networks, or systems, reveal infrastructures that are poetic re-imaginings of urban construction.

Tegeder’s site-specific installations are created to dynamically correspond to the surrounding architecture, creating a dialogue that is meant to be structurally inclusive and immediately revealing. Previously appearing exclusively in museum and gallery contexts, this wall installation will be Tegeder’s first in an art fair environment, specifically responding to the surrounding nuances of UNTITLED’s unique physical building.

Please join us on Friday, December 4th at 1pm in Booth C27 for a booth talk with the artist. Dannielle Tegeder will elaborate on her inspiration, technique and processes with a special emphasis on her site-specific wall installation.

Tegeder currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. Her exhibition history includes numerous institutional exhibitions including PS1/MOMA, The New Museum, The Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. Presentations of her work have taken place in numerous gallery exhibitions, both nationally and internationally in Chicago, Paris, Houston, Los Angeles, Berlin and New York. She received a BFA from the State University of New York at Purchase (1994), and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago (1997).
