When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that on my head is a ceramic sculpture, eye holes like an owl’s, a shoulder pad, patent leather wing, black upon my left shoulder, a grommeted parachute hangs down from it creating a sleeve, in that hand a coop glass, orange suspenders move diagonally across my torso towards my right hip and attach to army green kaki pants gathered uncomfortably around my knees, black cherry leather boots vaguely reminiscent of toilets, my right arm dipped in gold, with letters expanding off the side - O, E, V, and A at the wrist, their innards filled with topaz.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that an oversized orange peel covers my face and drapes down my shoulder, a hastily constructed wooden dowel science fair project lazily braces my left arm, at the center of my chest an iridescent smear that can’t be stared at, my right arm rests on descending stiletto heels, an oversized porcelain horse tchotchke doubles as my pants, gold plated hooves double as my shoes.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that on my head is a Slip ’n’ Slide, my eyes directing their glance with streams of water, an inflatable dolphin, upside down, fits around my right arm, garden fencing wraps my body like a tunic and braces my left arm where the palest peach colored blossoms grow, on my legs a metal slide from childhood no longer deemed safe.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that on my head is a pizza box who’s slices descend down my face and around my back, my left arm is the color blue as an indistinct form, my fingers snap to create gold coins, my right arm is caught in the riggings of half a pirate ship jutting from my side, and shoes made of first generation iMacs.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that on my head is a honey colored see-through toilet that doubles as a cat’s face, 19th century constructions project from my chest, upon which looped 16mm reels project on to my face, both arms fit into an inflatable kitty pool full of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, on both legs I wear miniature old-timey bicycles.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that on my head I wear all of the “Cindy” wigs from the Heads & Threads Boutique on Milwaukee and Division, a fishnet stocking over my face extends from my mouth pushed by the tip of a long-necked spoon, an asymmetrical shoulder pad made from the complete Golden Girls DVD set sits on my right, a looping Hot Wheels track creates my right sleeve, my left arm sits along a Mylar-lined tanning device, a teal worn tank top with the words “HO HUM” emblazoned, a sideways capital “A” worn as sassy cutoffs, extra leg hair from somewhere, and upside down novelty size PEZ dispensers as my footwear.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that on my head is a badger, no a groundhog, driving an appropriately sized truck, on my shoulder a tubular wave catches the sunlight, horizontal stripes cross from arm to arm, my grandma’s umbrella is my right sleeve, her fern is a grass skirt, a wooden spinning wheel forms my pants and shoes, quite difficult to walk in, pricked fingers and thread spell out the words “DON’T SAY NEVER”.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that on my head I wear fenders from various space age cars they don’t make anymore, my right arm blows bubbles from an attached bucket of soap water, my chest holds an uncomfortably big clam, its tongue a new couch, from floor to ceiling on my left shoulder stands a broad brimmed highway sign promising live nudes, all of the characters from upsetting childhood Claymation specials are melted into a bell-shaped dress, those silver knee-high boots I walked past every day I wear on my feet.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that my head sits inside of a hallowed hall, stained glass windows I peer through, spanning across my shoulders a proudly strung bridge, dangling from both ends tassels and flags from forgotten secret societies create my sleeves, my hands bow out to create a basin in the shape of a clear happy dolphin, glimmers of sunlight project from its belly onto the ground in front, track pants with too many stripes lead towards now extinct pelicans on loan from the Field Museum.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that my head is surrounded by dashes of orange and pink, swell on my torso is a Wagnerian chest plate of metallic smears, my left arm is a grassy hillside, its hand cuts circles of glass out of the air, a slab of asphalt peeled from the road drapes down my right arm like an elegant cape, in its hand the color turquoise, modernist arms-deep space becomes my pants, and sliding feet on marbles.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that on my head I wear a giant chestnut, my head fit snugly in the mouth of a giant volcano, a tiny volcano really, that spans my shoulders, carved steps spiraling from top to bottom, a flag pole extends from my chest displaying a banner so worn by the sun its country of origin no longer applies, the albatross from The Rescuers splays awkwardly across my body and both arms, making it impossible to move, unsatisfying circles stacked create my pants, cheese graters as my shoes, trails of block cheddar behind.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that golden hands uncomfortably beyond the size of a human’s contort to make a mask, their fingertips perched upon my shoulders, yard sticks swing in circles from both shoulders, my left arm is a overly generous Chihuly glass sculpture, my right is dressed in the fronds of a large pineapple, three-foot diameter rewritable CDs cascade down and around my torso and to my toes, an elegant evening wear gown, I've mistakenly fashioned old timey spigots into footwear.

When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. When I meditate I dream of magical suits of armor. Today I dreamt that a solid silver Jurassic stag’s antlers spans beyond the width of my body, at the end of each a candle burns and drips wax down, sunlight blinks blindingly off its glistening points and casts striated shadows down across my torso and left arm, in my left hand a banana split that I spin in a circle fast enough to create the illusion of a continuous loop, my right arm and right diagonal torso have been dipped in cherry Dilly Bar wax, all of the notes from Bach’s Wir Eilen mit schwachen, doch emsigen Schritten are stacked upside down as best they can to form my pants, my feet have been standing still in silly putty for over twenty minutes and have now sunk quite deep to create my shoes.
