During my career, the choice of photography as the means of capturing the real occurred in 1968, as a printmaker, when I used a series of ten black and white photographs to produce a book of photo-etchings titled “Wrinkle”. Photography was a means to make also photo-silk-screens that I will print on paper, canvas or directly on the white wall.

In 1995, I produced my first series of photographs (silver gelatin prints and cibachromes) using the medium in itself, without translations to any other graphic technique.

This experience, led me to filmmaking. During the years 1999 and 2000 I produced “For You”, “Drum Solo”, my two first short films shot in 16mm and then translated to video. “Fox in the Mirror” was my third film, shot in digital video (2007).
Parallel to photography and films, I have been making works on canvas, drawings, collages and also small “installations” using the presence of the objects themselves as protagonists.
The images depict a cast of characters that I have been working with for some time. They are inanimate objects, toys and figurines. They have a double existence, on the one hand they are mere appearance, insubstantial ornaments, but, at the same time, have a gaze that can be animated by the viewer, who, through it, can project the inclination to endow things with an interiority and identity. These “theatrical vignettes” are constructed as visual comments, generally speaking, of the human condition.
